Overview
You can cancel your Pro Guard subscription at any time through the billing portal. Cancellation stops future billing, but your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.
How to Cancel
- Go to Dashboard → Settings → Plan
- Click "Manage Billing →" — this opens the Polar billing portal in a new tab
- In the billing portal, find your Pro Guard subscription
- Click Cancel Subscription and confirm
What Happens After Cancellation
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Monitoring | Continues until the end of your billing period, then stops |
| Breach alerts | Continue until the billing period ends |
| Monthly reports | Reports for the remaining billing period are still generated |
| Previously generated reports | Remain accessible in your dashboard — they are not deleted |
| Domains | Remain in your account but are no longer monitored after expiration |
| Future billing | No further charges — your subscription simply doesn't renew |
Important Notes
- No partial-month refunds — if you cancel mid-year, the remaining months are not refunded. You retain access until the period end date.
- The expiration date is displayed in red on your Settings → Plan section so you know exactly when access ends.
- You can re-subscribe at any time — your domains and account data are preserved.
Downgrading vs. Cancelling
There is no manual "downgrade" option. Cancelling your Pro Guard subscription effectively returns your account to the free tier at the end of the billing period. You can still:
- Run free scans from the homepage
- Purchase individual Single Reports ($249)
- Re-subscribe to Pro Guard whenever you're ready
