Masked vs. Full Reports — What's the Difference?

Understand the difference between free masked reports and paid full reports, and what data is visible in each.

Overview

When you run a scan on Verusight, the report you receive depends on whether you've purchased access. Masked reports show the scale of your exposure while protecting sensitive details. Full reports reveal everything.

Masked Reports (Free)

Every free domain scan produces a masked report. You can see:

  • ✅ Total number of exposures — how many credential records exist for your domain
  • ✅ Risk severity score — Critical, High, Medium, or Low
  • ✅ Data freshness — when the most recent exposure was detected
  • ✅ Leak source types — whether credentials come from stealer logs, combo lists, or breach databases
  • ✅ Detection dates — when each credential was first observed
  • ✅ Partially visible email addresses — enough to see patterns (e.g., j.d●●@acme.com) but not full addresses
  • ✅ Remediation recommendations — actionable steps regardless of tier

What's hidden:

  • ❌ Full email addresses — masked to prevent misuse
  • ❌ Passwords — completely hidden
  • ❌ Source URLs — the websites where credentials were used
  • ❌ PDF export — not available on free reports

Full Reports (Paid)

When you purchase a Single Report ($249) or subscribe to Pro Guard ($499/year), you receive a fully unmasked report:

  • ✅ Complete email addresses — see exactly which employees are affected
  • ✅ Plaintext passwords — identify compromised credentials for immediate rotation
  • ✅ Source URLs — know which services are at risk (VPN, email, SaaS platforms)
  • ✅ PDF export — download a professional report for stakeholders or compliance documentation
  • ✅ Everything included in the masked report

Why Masking Exists

The masking system serves two purposes:

  1. Security — exposed credentials are sensitive data. Masking prevents unauthorized access to this information before domain ownership is verified.
  2. Value demonstration — seeing the scale of your exposure (total count, severity, freshness) lets you assess the business risk before committing to a purchase.

How to Unlock a Full Report

  1. Click "Unlock Full Report — from $249" in the report header
  2. Create an account or log in (if you don't already have one)
  3. Verify domain ownership (if not already verified)
  4. Select a plan: Single Report ($249 one-time) or Pro Guard ($499/year)
  5. Complete checkout — the report unlocks automatically
