Overview
To start monitoring your organization's credential exposure, you need to add and verify at least one domain. Verification is a security requirement — it ensures that only authorized personnel can access breach data for a domain.
Step 1: Navigate to Settings
Go to Dashboard → Settings. In the "Domains" section, click the "Add New Domain" button.
Step 2: Enter Your Domain
In the modal that appears, type your domain name — for example, company.com.
- Use the base domain without
www.or subdomains - The domain must be a valid format: lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens, and a recognized TLD
- Maximum 20 domains per account
Step 3: Verify Domain Ownership
After adding the domain, you need to prove you own or control it. Verusight selects the fastest available method based on your account:
Smart Verification (Instant)
If your verified account email matches the domain you're adding (e.g., you registered with [email protected] and you're adding company.com), the domain is verified instantly. No manual steps required.
- Requires a verified account email
- Not available for
.edu,.gov,.mil, or.acdomains
Email Code Verification
If your account email matches the domain but Smart Verification conditions aren't met, you'll receive a 6-digit verification code via email. Enter the code within 15 minutes to verify.
DNS TXT Record Verification
Add a TXT record to your domain's DNS with a token provided by Verusight. Best for IT teams with DNS access. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though most complete within 5–30 minutes.
File Upload Verification
Upload a text file containing your verification token to your web server's root directory at https://yourdomain.com/verusight-verify.txt. Requires HTTPS.
See the detailed guides for each method in the Domain & Verification section.
Step 4: Start Using Your Verified Domain
Once verified, your domain is active and ready to use:
- Free / Single Report users: Generate one-time exposure reports for this domain
- Pro Guard subscribers: Click "Enable" next to the domain to activate continuous monitoring. Pro Guard includes up to 3 monitoring slots — verified domains are often auto-enabled.
