Overview
Verusight scans typically complete in 30–90 seconds. If your scan appears stuck or is taking longer, here's what to check.
Normal Scan Behavior
When you submit a domain for scanning:
- A full-screen scanning animation appears with your domain name
- The system queries our database of 135B+ records
- The page automatically checks for results every few seconds
- When the scan completes, you're redirected to the report
If the Scan Takes Longer Than Expected
Wait a Moment Longer
Some domains with large volumes of associated credential data may take slightly longer to process. Give it up to 2–3 minutes before taking action.
Refresh the Page
If the animation has been running for more than 3 minutes:
- Refresh your browser — the scan continues in the background regardless of your browser state
- The page will resume polling for results after refresh
Check Your Internet Connection
The scanning animation relies on your browser polling our servers for results. If your internet connection drops:
- The scan still runs on our servers
- Reconnect and refresh the page to see results
After 6 Minutes
The automatic polling stops after approximately 6 minutes (120 poll attempts). If this happens:
- Navigate directly to the report URL if you have it
- Try running a fresh scan on the same domain
Scan Failed
In rare cases, a scan may fail entirely. If this happens, you'll see a "Scan Failed" page with an option to "Try Again". Failures can occur due to:
- Temporary database connectivity issues
- Extremely high server load
- Invalid domain format
Retrying usually resolves the issue.
